Q. What is TENS?
A. TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. In TENS therapy, electrical devices are used to send stimulating pulses across the surface of the skin and along the nerve strands.
Q. What is EMS?
A. EMS stands for Electrical Muscle Stimulation. EMS theraoy ilicits muscle contractions using electric pulses.
Q. How does Smart Relief Ultimate/Intro work?
A. Smart Relief Ultimate uses bio-electric stimulus to massage your muscles. Your muscles respond to the impulses by contracting and relaxing rhythmically. This massage helps to reduce tension and knots. It can also reduce inflammation and alleviate the pain. With regular use, your Smart Relief Ultimate can help your muscles and joints feel better. The soothing sensations are similar to what you receive when treated by a massage specialist, chiropractor or physical therapist
Q. Is Smart Relief safe to use?
A. Bio-electric stimulus is perfectly safe for use. Not only is it safe, it is very therapeutic for most people. There are cases however, when people with certain health conditions cannot use this massager. Pregnant women must avoid using this massager. Patients with a pacemaker or life support equipment, such as an artificial heart-lung device(s) and/or respirator-type medical devices must avoid using this massager.
Q. How do I turn the device on?
A. To turn on the device please slide the On/Off Slider to the On position
Q. How do I attach the massage pads to the connecting wires?
A. To attach the pads simply snap onto the fasteners attached to the connecting wires.
Q. How do I plug in the connecting wires?
A. Plug in both sets of wires into the two ports which are located at the bottom of your Smart Relief Ultimate device.
Q. How do I use the massage pads?
A. Remove the protective plastic covers from the pads and sprinkle a few drops of water before using. This will prolong the durability and life of your pads.
Q. How do I scroll through and select a massage mode?
A. Simply press the Mode (M) button to cycle through all modes until you highlight the desired one.
Q. How do I increase/decrease the unit’s intensity?
A. You can regulate the intensity of your unit by pressing the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons located below the face of the unit. Note that when changing modes, the intensity of the massage pulse will reset itself back to the minimum strength.
Q. How do I work the timer?
A. The timer is automatically set for 20 minutes. This may be increased in ten-minute increments to a maximum of 60 minutes. To do this, press the Timer (T) button on the front of the device. Your massage unit will shut off automatically after the allotted time has passed.
Q. How long can a device operate from a single charge?
A. Each charge generally lasts up to 42 hours of runtime or more, this type of technology is not very strenuous on batteries.
Q. How do you charge the Smart Relief unit?
A. To recharge the lithium battery, simply plug the Smart Relief Ultimate device to a computer or an electric outlet using the USB cable and plug provided
Q. How long do the massage pads last?
A. With frequent use, the two pair of pads included with the massager should last about 4-6 months. Always make sure to apply a few drops of water on the pads before applying and rinse accordingly after use. Cover the pads with their protective films and place them on the round holder so they don’t dry out. If you feel an unpleasant or stinging sensation, the pads may be worn out and need replacement. If they look good and have good adhesiveness, check your battery as it may be getting low and a simple charge can help. More massage pads can always be ordered from our website.
Q. Why are there different pad sizes?
Q. I placed the massage pads on an area with a lot of tension but the message sensation feels uncomfortable. What should I do?
A. If the uncomfortable feeling persists for longer than two minutes slightly move the massage pads away from the area of discomfort, an indirect massage can be sometimes be necessary for sensitive areas. Decreasing the intensity of the massage is also recommended.
Q. No matter where I put the massage pads I feel an uncomfortable stinging sensation. What could the problem be?
A. If a stinging sensation happens consistently, and the pads appear to be in good condition and have good adhesiveness, the devices’ battery may be getting low if charging the device did not fix the problem it may be time to replace the pads. Pads can be ordered directly from our website.
Q. Does Smart Relief come with a warranty?
A. Yes, Smart Relief has a two-year factory warranty. The Smart Relief Ultimate device has a two-year limited warranty (valid in the USA, Canada, and UK only). Smart Relief Ultimate is guaranteed free from defect in material and workmanship for a period of two years from date of purchase, except as noted below. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse or accident, the attachment of any unauthorized accessory or alteration of the product. This warranty is only effective if the unit is purchased in the USA, Canada, or UK. Under this warranty, Smart Relief shall not be responsible for any type of incidental, consequential, or special damages. All implied warranties, including but not limited to those implied warranties of merchantability, are limited in the total duration of 2 years from original purchase date. To obtain warranty service on you Smart Relief Ultimate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive return merchandise authorization (RMA) instructions. A processing fee may apply. Q. What is the Smart Relief return policy?
A. Smart Relief offers both a two year exchange policy or life time warranty (additional cost) on defective merchandise. If for any reason your unit malfunctions within two years of purchase you may return it to us for examination as per our warranty program and if needed we will replace the defective unit with a brand new working one. We do our best to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase. Should you not be completely satisfied with your ONLINE purchase, we will gladly provide an exchange or refund within 30 days from date of purchase, provided all items are unused and in the original wrapping. The cost of the item will be refunded to your credit card less the shipping charges and a 16% restocking fee.
